The Living Beautifully Series
Real stories. Real people. We’re aiming to explore what Beautiful Living really means, beyond the way a home looks, and into the people, their thoughts, and the feelings that make it personal. Across the series, we’ll meet inspiring people to get their different perspectives on what makes a house truly feel like home.
For our first episode, we sat down with Nina Gee, a home interior design enthusiast, to talk about her approach to home, why perfection isn’t the point, and what Beautiful Living means to her and her family.
Nina Gee on the meaning of home
For Nina Gee, Beautiful Living is less about how a home looks and more about how it makes you feel. “Beautiful Living is a feeling, it’s not a product,” she says. It’s the sense of peace a room can bring to your day, the way it energises you, and the feeling of being completely at home in your surroundings. Her own home reflects that approach: classic yet contemporary, with a sense of personality and soul that feels distinctly hers.
Nina believes a home should evolve with you. The most meaningful spaces aren’t created overnight, or lifted from a Pinterest board, but they’re shaped slowly through living, decorating, and experimenting. What works, what doesn’t, and the things you come to love along the way all become part of its character and charm.
During our time with Nina, that sense of real life was impossible to miss, not least thanks to Buckley, her energetic four-legged friend, who brought his own personality and plenty of movement to the space.
What was abundantly clear was Nina’s sense of family and the importance of shaping their home together. “The way my home feels and the way it makes my family feel themselves is really important for me.” From cosy family nights tucked away on the sofa to that feeling of calm in bed once the day comes to an end, the future of beautiful living looks much like the present for Nina; creating a home that feels special, personal, and, above all, makes her family feel at home.
We left with one key takeaway: a beautiful home isn’t about chasing perfection; it’s about creating one that feels like you.
