What is an extendable dining table?
An extendable (or extending) dining table lets you change the length or shape, perfect for hosting. The main types of mechanisms in our range include:
● Hidden extension panel - The extra section is stored inside the table. You simply have to pull the ends apart, lift the panel and pop it into place.
● Butterfly leaf - The leaf folds in half and is stored inside the table, making it quick to change and tidy.
● Flip-and-lift panel - The centre panel flips open from inside and locks flat.
How to extend your dining room table
Hidden extension panel
● Clear the table and unlock the safety latch (if your model has one).
● Pull both ends apart evenly until you see the hidden panel.
● Lift the panel, unfold or align it as designed, and set it into the center.
● Push the ends back in so the top closes around the panel.
● Lock the mechanism so the top stays aligned and wobble-free.
Flip-and-lift panel
● Unlock and pull the ends apart slightly.
● Lift the center panel and flip it open until it lies flat.
● Push ends back to tighten the seam and lock.
Butterfly leaf
● Unlock the table and pull both ends apart evenly.
● Lift the folded leaf from inside, unfold it flat.
● Lower it into place, then push the table closed and lock it.
