Teal velvet sofas in 2 seater, 3 seater, corner and sofa bed styles

Teal velvet sofas land in that blue-green space that works as both a statement piece and a surprisingly versatile one. Deep enough to anchor a neutral room, rich enough to hold its own against bold colour. The velvet pile shifts between blue and green as the light moves through the day, which is most of the appeal.

Teal is a tricky colour to photograph, so a fair question before buying: is it actually teal, or does it lean green? Ours sits on the blue side of teal, true to the product images, though velvet tends to arrive a shade deeper than it looks on screen. If you're matching a sofa to an existing teal piece, order a swatch first, since dye lots can vary slightly between ranges.

Across the range you'll find compact 2 seater frames, roomier 3 seater designs, and a 5+ seater corner sofa for larger rooms. The Clarence, Brigette and Henrietta ranges all come in teal velvet, alongside the Hanney chesterfield chaise sofa bed for rooms that double up.

Teal pairs well with mustard, blush pink, brass and warm woods, or sits quietly against grey and off-white. Finish the look with velvet cushions or a matching velvet footstool, or browse the wider velvet sofas range.

Teal Velvet Sofa Questions

Is it actually teal, or does it look green?

Teal sits on the boundary between blue and green, which is exactly why people ask. Our teal velvet reads as a blue leaning teal: deeper and bluer than a true green, but with enough green in it to shift under different lighting. In warm evening light it leans greener; in cooler daylight it reads bluer. If you want to be certain before committing, order a fabric swatch from the product page and check it in your own room's light. A screen can only get you so far with a colour this changeable.

Will the colour match what I see in the photos?

Closely, with one honest caveat: velvet tends to arrive a shade deeper than it looks on screen. Several customers have noted the sofa is slightly darker than the product images while still being happy with the colour. This is normal for velvet. The pile absorbs and reflects light differently to a flat fabric, so screens tend to render it a little lighter than real life. If anything, expect it to look richer in person, not washed out.

Will my teal pieces match if I buy them at different times?

Mostly, but not guaranteed. Teal velvet can vary slightly between ranges and between production batches, so a Brigette sofa and a Henrietta footstool in teal might not be a pixel perfect match. If you're building a matching set, order the pieces together where you can, and request swatches to compare first. Within a single range, colour consistency is reliable. Across different ranges, treat the teals as complementary rather than identical.

What colours go with a teal velvet sofa?

Teal is more versatile than it looks. For contrast and warmth, pair it with mustard yellow, blush pink, terracotta, or brass and gold metallics. For a calmer scheme, set it against grey, off white, or warm wood tones, where the teal becomes the single point of colour in the room. It also sits naturally within broader blue and green palettes. Velvet cushions in cream, ochre or rust are the easiest way to finish the look.

Will a teal velvet sofa fade in sunlight?

Some fading is possible over years of direct sun, as with any coloured fabric. Teal holds up better than paler colours but isn't immune. Several customers have happily put theirs in sun rooms and garden rooms, but if your sofa will sit in all-day direct sunlight, rotating cushions occasionally and using blinds during peak sun will extend the colour's life. Polyester velvet resists fading better than natural-fibre velvet.
